Always Inspired by Pixar
Maintaining and always looking for sources of inspiration is a must for artists and creatives. Many artists have been known to stock their studios with an array of pictures, books, music, and art to use when searching for that next inspirational subject. A huge source of personal inspiration is Pixar and their Art of Animation books. These books contain sketches, character and set design, and other forms of art that contributed to each movie.
One of these particular books solely contains storyboards from each film and short. These storyboards are brilliantly colored, abstract, and full of energy. As I was flipping through the pages I was mesmerized and realized that each page looked like a unique work of art. At that moment I was inspired to paint. I filled two palettes up with rows of color and threw paint onto the canvas in rows similar to that of a story board. While this canvas storyboard doesn't tell a specific story, it is a tribute to one of my greatest sources of inspiration.
